Fountain on left dated from 1700's and comes from a spring. It oveflows into old Roman washbasin (lavoir) on the right where some locals still wash their clothes. When they wash on the angled stone surface on the edge, the water runs off into a drain around the inside, and off to somewhere else, keeping the water cleaner. For some reason, Anne preferred the washing machine inside...
