View from main bedroom window - there was a better one upstairs, but the room hadn't been renovated Fountain on left dated from 1700's and comes from a spring. It oveflows into old Roman washbasin (lavoir) on the right where some locals still wash their clothes. When they wash on the angled stone surface on the edge, the water runs off into a  drain around the inside, and off to somewhere else, keeping the water cleaner. For some reason, Anne preferred the washing machine inside... Off to see the Rugby - there were about 30 Aussie jumpers there - Ben won the 'pick the number of Aussie outfit' guess. Start of Action Lunch at the recommended eating hole at Uzes. Pont du Gard Aquaduct. Detail on the underground tunnels which carried the water most of the way. Details of how they constructed the archway - remember, no cement was used, just gravity and keystones in the arches. Anne goes tablecloth shopping at the markets in Vaison la Romain Paella anyone? Small Mussels to take away. On the road to Mount Ventoux - long way up, with Anne wanting to go home most of the way! But at least you could drive all the way. There were a lot of hikers and cyclists (who were very fast on the way down ...
