Piazza Erb, the smaller of the two main Piazza gets its name from a Herb Market Thoroughly recommended, features lots of Horse and Donkey on the menu - John had the horse! Yum-oh Main Clock Tower in Piazza Erb at night Ancient Roman well in the middle of the Piazza. Behind is a stone canopy where, in ancient times, they kept the scales shared by all the traders. This fountain has flowed for over 2000 years! The original statue was probably a Roman Godess, but lost its head and arms at some time. When it was replaced, it became Verona's Madonna - nothing like recycling!\n\nAlso note the column holding the Venetian lion in the backgound reminding residents that Venice was in charge circa 1405 Lots of "Genuine" accessories from Hawkers all over the towns of Italy The 5 star attraction is the stroll at night down Via Mazzini, right outside the hotel Ancient remains of the 'Arena' which is still in user today - although for Opera, rather than feeding Lions ... Restaurants around Piazza Bra, right next to the Hotel, is the best place to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon - this shot is early morning - during the day it is packed! The statue of Juliet at the local tourist trap, 'House of Juliet', which claims to be the inspiration for Romeo and Juliet, although there is no supporting fact. Note her breasts are shiny - it's supposed to bring you luck in love or something if you rub them ... Colourful buildings around Piazza Erb Again around Piazza Erb - Note the frescos on the building in the centre Madonna in the foreground, with the Venetion Lion behind
